The ancestors of presidents Theodore and Franklin Delano and first lady Eleanor were farmers on a Dutch island. So after lunch a polder is waiting for you. A polder on the island of Tholen, which was in the 17th century the birthplace of the Roosevelts. The polder is near the village of Oud-Vossemeer. In the old town hall of this village you’ll learn more about the roots of the Roosevelts. You now understand why the villagers here have such a strong bond with the Roosevelts and America.
