What To Expect

Running between Prins Hendrikkade and Nieuwmarkt, Zeedijk is a street in Chinatown in Amsterdam and boasts of many small restaurants, eateries, bars and lounges. The Red Light District is a part of town with a long history, where the legal profession of prostitution is practiced. The heart of the district are the canals, which are lined by tall narrow houses called "bruggen" (bridges ), filled with small rooms, where women sit. The district is known for its red lights, and a number of brothels.The Red Light District consists of seven streets: Brouwersgracht, Herengracht, Keizersgracht, Prinsengracht, Singel canal, Spuistraat and Westerstraat.
