Dam Square
Dam is the heart of the city and the place where the Amsterdammers built a dam over the river. Because this is where the city originated one could say that this is where all the magic happened. Nowadays the beautiful square is a symbolic location because it houses important national symbols such as the National Monument, the Nieuwe Kerk (New Church) and the Royal Palace. From here you set off on the walking tour with a maximum of three other travelers and your private guide from a multiple award-winning tour operator, known for authenticity and sustainability and their continuous development of new walking tours and experiences.

Nieuwmarkt
During the walking tour you will pass by fairytale-like buildings such as the medieval Waag, that once served as the city gate. Other important sights that your path crosses are the Anne Frank House, the Westerkerk (Wester Church) and the Begijnhof (beguinage), a hofje or courtyard that is among the oldest in Amsterdam and dates back to at least the 14ᵗʰ century. An oasis in the city. And, of course, the most beautiful canal (houses) along the Golden Belt cannot be missed!

Be surprised about Dutch culture and enjoy the entertaining stories your spontaneous and enthusiastic guide shares with you and learn about the city’s vibrant history and the dynamic between history, tolerance, religion and pragmatism. The walking tour ends right back at Dam again.
