Overview

We sail in the early morning with no other boats around, for sure the best photo opportunities!

Where other boats like to sail a fixed route and give standard comments, we like our tours to be unique, personal, informative, and fun! We start our cruise along the Canal Ring (UNESCO World Heritage List), and from there, off we go.

Since 2021 we cruise in an incredibly special boat, namely the 1928 former Dutch govern boat which was used by heads of state, mayors, and the Dutch royal family. The boat is intimate and comfortable; 100% electric, with sliding windows, a sunroof, open aft deck, heating, and toilet on board (a luxury).
In short: the most ideal boat to explore the canals.

We are proud to be an Award Winner for "Best Amsterdam Boat tour for 2019 and be listed in the World's Top 5 of Best rated Airbnb Experiences!

See you onboard,
Captain Dave Amsterdam

Ps. If you're expecting a read-from-a-script, we-do-the-same-route-multiple-times-a-day tour don't go with us!

What To Expect

Come and join our award-winning 'Best Boat Tour 2020 for Amsterdam' and sail along the most beautiful parts of Amsterdam. We sail in a spacious boat with a roof that we open when the weather is nice.

Where others like to sail a fixed route and give standard comments, we like to sail on different routes and tell stories about the things we see and admire, with a lot of humor.

The cruise starts (and ends) on dock at the Prinsengracht 579.

The Jordaan
The lively Jordan area —What do you think it is named after? The French word Jardin (English: garden) or Jordaan (the Dutch name for the river Jordan)?

What to choose? Most canals and streets in the Jordan area are named after flowers and trees; on the other hand, “Jordaan” was the Prinsengracht's nickname...

Magere Brug
The famous Skinny Bridge —across the river Amstel and opposite of the Carré theatre is an Old Dutch design wooden double-swipe (balanced) bridge.

The romantic story goes that the bridge got his name from the sisters Mager, who lived on opposite sides. They had the wooden bridge built to make it easier to visit each other...

The more likely version is that the original bridge acquired the name from being so narrow (mager means skinny in Dutch) that it was hard for two pedestrians to pass one along with another.
